Teflon Electroless Nickel (PTFE)
A typical EN-PTFE deposit contains 18-25% volume PTFE particles that are 0.3-0.4 microns in average diameter. The % P in the EN may range anywhere from 7-11% by weight, and the thickness typically ranges from 2.5 microns to 12.5 microns (0.0001" to 0.0005"). EN-PTFE offers a combination of a "non-stick-surface", acceptable corrosion resistance, wear resistance and low coefficient of friction. For optimum corrosion protection, a PTFE-free EN deposit is applied as an under-layer. The pltated surface is oil and water repellant (hydrophobic) and is ideal in apllication where normal lubricants cannot be easily applied.
